OUR PROMISE
Growline is a personal health record tool for families. We are designed around a simple promise: your child's data belongs to you, not to us. We do not operate any servers that store your child's health data. We have no interest in your child's growth records beyond making Growline work on your devices.
1. Who we are
Growline is built and operated by Lizzian ("Lizzian," "we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how the Growline iOS application ("Growline" or the "App") handles personal information.

2. What data Growline handles
2.1 Data you choose to enter
Growline lets you record information about a child you care for. You may enter:
Child profile: nickname, date of birth, biological sex, gestational age at birth, and optional birth measurements.
Growth measurements: height, weight, head circumference, and derived percentiles.
Developmental milestones, illness episodes, vaccinations, photos you attach, free-text notes, and feeding or sleep observations.
You may also link family members or caregivers to your archive in future updates.
2.2 Data accessed only with your permission
The following are accessed only when you explicitly enable them inside Growline. You can disable any of them at any time in iOS Settings.
Apple Health (HealthKit) — read or write height, weight, and head circumference samples for the child you designate, when you enable import or auto-sync.
Photos — only the photos you choose to attach to a measurement, milestone, or photo entry. Growline does not scan or browse your photo library.
Notifications — used to remind you of upcoming pediatric checkups, due vaccines, monthly growth letters, and your custom measurement schedule.
2.3 Data Growline does NOT collect
No third-party tracking, no advertising identifiers, no analytics that profile you.
No location data.
No microphone, contacts, or calendar access.
No data sold, rented, or shared with brokers.
3. Where your data is stored
On your device. All measurements, photos, milestones, illness records, vaccines, and notes are stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework. They live on the device you record them on.
In your private iCloud account. If you are signed in to iCloud, Growline uses Apple's private CloudKit database to sync your archive across your own Apple devices. This data is held in your iCloud account, accessible only to you. Lizzian cannot read it.
No Lizzian servers. We do not operate any servers that store your child's health data, photos, or growth records. There is no Growline cloud account; there is no Growline backend that has access to your records.
4. Why we handle data
All data handling exists for a single purpose: to make the app work on your devices. Specifically:
Display your records, charts, and timeline.
Calculate growth percentiles using public WHO, CDC, and UK90 reference standards (the calculation runs entirely on your device).
Generate visit summary PDFs, monthly Growth Letters, and exportable archives.
Sync your archive across your devices via your private iCloud, if you choose.
Send local reminders for checkups, vaccines, and growth letters, if you grant notification permission.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, machine learning model training, or any commercial purpose beyond running the app.
5. Your rights
5.1 Export your data (data portability)
You can export your full archive at any time as a JSON file from Family → Export Data. The export includes every measurement, milestone, illness, vaccine, photo, and growth letter, and is suitable for re-import into Growline or for your own records. This export is free for every user, in compliance with GDPR Article 20.
5.2 Delete your data
Deleting a child profile is a two-step confirmation. Deleted profiles are soft-deleted for 30 days so you can restore them, after which they are permanently removed from the device and your iCloud private database.
To delete the entire app and all its data, simply delete Growline from your device. iCloud-synced data is purged within 30 days per Apple's standard iCloud account policies.
5.3 Access, correct, restrict, or object
Because all your data lives on your device and in your private iCloud, you have full direct access. You can edit any record, restrict synchronization by signing out of iCloud, or stop using the app at any time. Should you wish to make a request under GDPR, CCPA, or any equivalent regional law, contact hello@lizzian.com.
6. Children's privacy
Growline is intended for use by parents and caregivers of children. The app operates on a parental consent model: a parent installs the app, accepts these terms, and creates a profile for their child. The child is a profile within the parent's account; the child does not have an account of their own and does not interact with Growline directly.
We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent laws in other regions on this basis. Growline does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction).
7. Apple Health (HealthKit) data
If you grant Growline permission to access Apple Health, the app may read height, weight, and head circumference samples and write the same back to Apple Health for the child profile you designate. HealthKit data never leaves your device or iCloud, is never sent to Lizzian, and is never used for advertising or analytics. You can revoke any individual HealthKit permission at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Growline.
8. Medical disclaimer
Growline is a personal health record tool for families. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Growth charts and percentiles are reference tools — they are not a measure of a child's health or your parenting. Always consult a qualified pediatrician for any concerns about your child's growth or development.
9. International users
Because Growline does not transmit your records to any Lizzian server, your data does not cross borders by way of our infrastructure. Apple's iCloud services may store your data in regional data centers per Apple's own policies; please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on iCloud storage.
We acknowledge applicable regional laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the UK Data Protection Act, and the People's Republic of China Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL). Because Lizzian itself does not collect or process your child's records, most obligations under these laws apply to Apple as the iCloud service provider rather than to Lizzian.
10. Required Apple Privacy Manifest disclosures
Per Apple's privacy framework, the following data types and API access purposes are declared by Growline. None of them are linked to any tracking purpose; all are used solely for the functionality of the app.

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Growline evolves. Material changes will be communicated through an update note in the app and reflected in the Last updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
